Running didn't casually jog into Doc’s life; it marathon sprinted. Reflecting on her early days, Doc admits she was active from the get-go—gymnastics here, volleyball there, with a crescendo in high school track and field. However, it wasn’t until adulthood, nudged by a coworker's encouragement, that her real running journey began. Convinced by her coworker’s persistence, Doc embarked on the road that would eventually lead her to ultramarathons and triathlons.

Staring at a 10K registration form, six miles seemed more fantasy than reality, but Doc was not one to shy away from a challenge. From the thrill of finishing her first 10K to standing victorious in a marathon, Doc’s story escalates into endurance events for running and triathlons.

Doc’s path to triathlon events wasn’t walked alone. She joined Empire Tri Club, a community in New York City for triathletes. With support and knowledge, she learned the art of juggling triathlon sprints, Olympic triathlons, and later, tackled half-Iron Man and full-Iron Man events. The word ‘escalated’ captures her journey perfectly.

For Doc, running and triathlons are all about community and motivation. Every race and event allowed her to savor the electrifying energy of doing what seemed impossible with a group of like-minded fitness fanatics. She eloquently advises, "If you want to become an author, hang out with authors. Want to run marathons? Find marathoners." This bit of wisdom might as well be enshrined in motivational gold.

It's no surprise that someone whose life embodies inspiration became a coach. Doc shares her transformative experience of becoming a USA Triathlon Certified Coach and how speaking engagements expanded her platform to inspire others. Post-Ironman, with battle scars of biking disasters and personal growth, Doc was determined to channel her journey into motivating others. Her mission: spread the message—"People need to know they can."
