⚽️ Photo Recap: NC Courage vs. Chicago Red Stars
A 2-0 win at WakeMed Soccer Park.
The North Carolina Courage haven’t been at home much this season, so I was glad I was able to catch this match against the Chicago Red Stars. The North Carolina Courage continue to demonstrate their competitive edge in the 2025 season, winning this game by 2-0. With a current record of 3-3-3 (W-L-D), they sit near the middle of the NWSL standings. The NC Courage game against the Chicago Red Stars at First Horizon Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC, was attended by 8,592 fans, their 6th largest crowd in club history. It was a scorcher on Saturday, clocking in at 87 degrees without a cloud in sight. Luckily, there was a breeze as the game went on that made navigating the stadium a little bit easier.

The Chicago Red Stars have faced significant changes in the 2025 NWSL season following their roster rebuild. Under new head coach Lorne Donaldson, the team has shown promising development despite early-season challenges. Their current record stands at 1-1-7 (W-L-D), placing them at the end of the league table. They’ve had a rough season, but the building blocks are there.

🏟️ Only Fans
This game had a theme: Star Wars Night vs. the Stars. The fans got to see some guest appearances from Darth Vader, Wool E. Bull, Ms. Wuf, and Roary.

The Last Word 🥂
This was a really fun game, and the energy is always incredible at WakeMed Soccer Park. The atmosphere definitely makes a home win sweeter. I got to see a few friends in the crowd and make new ones, which is always the best part about sports.
Here are a few of my favorite images from the game that I’ll be savoring until their next home match on June 21st. That will be their Pride Game against the Houston Dash, so be sure to grab tickets if you’re in town! If you’re hosting any watch parties for women’s soccer games, be sure to let us know! We’d love to join virtually or share with the community!
